What do we do with your pet's ear sample?

Our lab technicians at EarAnalysis take your pet's ear sample, and place them on slides for viewing under a microscope. Once specimens have been smeared on a slide, they then go through a 30 minute heat fixing process. This process enables the cells and debris to stick to the slide while being stained. The staining process takes about 20 minutes, and the specimen is dipped in 5 different bacteria color stains. The reason for this is to make bacteria and other debris that may be in your pets ears appear under the microscope.

Analyzing the Sample

Once the sample has been heat fixed and stained we place it under a powerful digital microscope and use immersion oil on all slides for maximum magnification. Multiple slides are created for all samples received to ensure the utmost quality. Once we are satisfied with our findings we then notify you via email letting you know exactly what our studies revealed.
